Kia Ora, This week for reading we have been learning about Marine habitats. A habitat is were a animal lives and stores food. Marine habitats is a habitat thats in the sea. Our create task was to make a fake Instagram post talking about Marine habitats as if we were looking at them. We had to include these words Biodiversity, Habitats, Biogenic, Coastal and Symbiotic. After we did that we needed to answer some questions about habitats in the ocean. Here’s my create task.

What do you know about Marine habitats?

Last week was holy week. We learnt lots about Holy week. We learnt that firstly Jesus rode the Donkey through Jerusalem and the people were worshipping Jesus. Secondly the Last Supper. The last supper is significant because it was when Jesus was washing the disciples feet. Next it was Good Friday. Good Friday is significant because it was when Jesus died on the cross. Next it was Easter Saturday the day before Easter. Lastly Easter Sunday which is Easter the day Jesus rose from the dead. Our create was to pick one of these events and make something with it. Me and Claudia painted a picture of Good Friday. We put in the cross that Jesus died on. Here’s my create.

What do you know about Good Friday?

The past few weeks has been lent. We have been focusing on our Lenten promises. My Lenten promise is to not make my parents drive me places. The teachers make us questions to answer each week and we put it on a slide. The questions are about how we are going with our Lenten promise like if we didn’t do as good that week or if we did good. I learnt that this Sunday is palm Sunday and Jesus rode the donkey. Here’s my slides.

This week for R.E we learned about Mana Gertrude’s story. We learned that she was apart of HAFOTI (She has been apart of it for more than 10 years) She learned to grow products. She can now pass her skills onto others. HAFOTI is a organisation for Timorese woman improving their lives through food production. This helps family’s to get better at household decisions.

Our create was to make was to make a bible verse, a meaningful quote, a personal reflection or a religious image. We chose to do a bible verse. I worked with Sophie. We chose this bible verse because it’s about being courageous and strong and to not be afraid of God because he will not leave you or anyone. The bible verse we chose was “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

This week for reading we learnt about kids that have made a impact on the world. We read a book about Bethany Hamilton, we learnt that she got in a shark attack and lost her arm. That shark attack could have ended her surfing career but she didn’t give up she had a growth mindset. Our create task was to make a video on kids who have made a impact on the world. This week in reading we have been reading about Elon Musk. Our goal for this week was to Identify some text events and features, and discuss what they make the reader think about identify at least one important idea and justify why it is important. This week for reading we learnt about Micheal Phelps and Lebron James. We learnt about how they show our school values in there sport and out of there sport. Which are Compassion, Service, Integrity and Respect. Our goal was to make connections between the texts and one life experience, using more sophisticated texts. Our create task was to make a collector card for Lebron James or Michael Phelps. I chose Micheal Phelps. On the collector card it has to have Their name, their sport, a social impact they did and a school value they show. Here’s what my collector card looks like.

This term for PBL we have been learning about earth systems. Our PBL create task was to create your own world or a island. I made mine by doing a 3d model. I had grass and sand, a lake and a river, and some trees. For my island the air pressure is low. The climate is hot with temperatures from 30-35 degrees Celsius. And the seasons go through spring and summer. The weather patterns are warm, sunny, cloudy and rainy. And the island is surrounded by the ocean so salt water and then the lakes and rivers are fresh water.
